Mr. U. D. Jayawardana is Director of LTL Holdings Ltd. He graduated from Sri Lanka’s premier engineering school, University of Moratuwa in 1974 and joined the state owned power utility of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB). In the late seventies he was an Electrical Engineer attached to the transformer workshop of CEB. It is during this time that he envisaged the need for manufacturing indigenous transformers in Sri Lanka.
He put up a proposal to the Government of Sri Lanka to invest in a subsidiary of CEB which would manufacture the transformers. Mr. Jayawardana joined the new company (LTL Holdings) as its first Design Engineer in 1980 and in 1988 became its General Manager/Chief Executive Officer. Since then Mr. Jayawardana has been instrumental in driving the company to be the largest power sector company in Sri Lanka. Under his leadership, LTL Holdings developed into a diversified engineering conglomerate consisting of transformer manufacturing, galvanizing, power generation, project management and construction. In addition to being the CEO of LTL Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Jayawardana is the Chairman of Lakdhanavi Ltd and in several other companies in the group. Mr. Jayawardana is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers of Sri Lanka and the Institute of Electrical Engineering – UK.

Mr. R K Pitigalage
Mr. Pitigalage is a B. Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK), holds a MBA from University of Sri Jayawardanapura and has completed Level 1 of Chartered Financial Analyst. He is the Chief Financial Officer of LTL Holdings Group for the past 15 years.
Prior to joining LTL Group, Mr. Pitigalage served ANZ Grindlays Bank‐Colombo as an Assistant Manager. Throughout his stint in LTL, Mr. Pitigalage has worked with a large number of financial institutions both in and outside Sri Lanka securing financing that fueled the growth of LTL. He has been involved in the financial structuring of large infrastructure projects whose total value exceeds USD 500Mn. Some of the major financial deals spearheaded by him are the USD 325 Mn Export Credit Financing for a 300 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant with HSBC‐Hong Kong (2008), USD 62 Mn financing for a 100 MW power plant (2003), the leveraged management buyout valued at USD 5 Mn of ABB shares in LTL Holdings Ltd (2005) and USD 25Mn World Bank assisted 10 MW Wind Power Project (2011). Mr. Pitigalage was selected as the CFO of the year by CIMA‐Sri Lanka in 2008.
Mr. Gamini Sarath
Mr. U. G. Sarath started his career as a banker. He has a BSc (Business Administration) from University of Ceylon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development from University of Colombo. Subsequently he obtained a Master of Arts from University of Colombo and Master of Business Administration from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He first worked in Central Bank of Sri Lanka. Then he moved on to merchant banking. He worked in several merchant banking institutions where he managed to arrange large project finance deals. Mr. Sarath, with 38 years of experience in the financial services sector, has been instrumental in arranging project loans for several thermal and hydro power plants in Sri Lanka. Subsequently Mr. Sarath acted as the CEO of the Bankers Institution of Sri Lanka and currently serving full time in Lakdhanavi Limited.
Mr. Thamaka Thimbiripola
Mr. T. Thimbiripola started his career as Electrical Engineers. He has a BEng (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) from University of Queen Mary, UK. His 1st assignment was as a project electrical and controls engineer for a 300MW Combined Cycle Power Plant EPC project with Lakdhanavi Ltd. Later on he was the lead electrical engineer of the O&M team for the above 300MW Yugadanavi Power Plant. He also worked as a Business Development engineer for power sector infrastructure development projects. As present he works as the Director for Feni Lanka Power plant.
